Children's Ministry

Thank you for checking out one of the most important ministries at Hickman Community Church. Children are the Church's future generation, and therefore we understand the necessity to have a ministry that comes alongside parents and support their efforts to raise a godly offspring. Strong families are the fabric of any strong church, and as such, it is our desire that parents be supported to this end.

Philosophy of Children's Ministry

The philosophy of Children's Ministry is to bring honor to God in all that we do, specifically as it relates to children. Jesus reveals the priority children are to Him when He said “Let the children alone and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matt. 19:14). So in all that we do in ministering to children, we do to the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31).

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Children's Ministries at Hickman Community Church is committed to assisting parents in fulfilling the Scriptural admonition to train their children in a way that honors the Lord. We provide basic Bible teaching with the intent to clearly present the truth of the gospel to every child in the hope that they will see their need for the Savior, Jesus Christ. Children's Ministry also provides opportunities for adults to exercise their spiritual gifts. As they guide children, leaders learn valuable ministry skills and encourage one another to bring honor and glory to Christ (1 Pet. 4:10-11) by serving and loving these little ones.

These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Nursery

The Nursery at Hickman Community Church is such a vital part of the overall ministry of the church. All our staff are, firstly, members of Hickman Community Church and secondly, have completed background checks. They are given personal direction and training in accordance with the 'Nursery Procedures Manual' for the tasks they must undertake. The Nursery is Available

Sunday 9:00am & 10:45 am (Infants through potty trained)
Sunday 6:00pm (Infants through kindergarten)
